Report a Blighted Property in Your Neighborhood

Abandoned Homes Hurt! There are blighted properties in all of Stark County that are not producing any tax revenue for our Schools and Subdivisions. They have been there for many years and the Treasurer's office has been trying to get them back on the tax records. There are properties where the amount of delinquent tax owed is five times or more than the property is worth. This includes RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL AND VACANT LAND. The Stark County Treasurer's department is building a database to try to get these blighted properties back on the tax records and into the hand of Stark County citizens who want to purchase one of these parcels. These properties can be used for several productive uses.

COMING SOON is a database of tax-delinquent properties. We are working to find the owners of these properties so we can try to rectify the situation with a solution that benefits the owners, the county and the residents in the neighborhoods.

House Bill 294 is a new legislation that could allow a taxpayer to purchase tax-delinquent vacant land with the help of the county Treasurer's department and your City or Subdivision. For more information on HB294 contact Lem Green 330-451-7510.
