 Abandoned lots and empty homes are the scourge of any neighborhood. These properties can become unsightly if not properly maintained and could bring down the sale value of surrounding properties. These properties are not producing any taxes for the cities, subdivisions or schools.
In attempt to rectify this growing problem, the Stark County Treasurer is building a database of these abandoned properties in attempt to get them fixed up or sold and back on the tax records.
