DUTIES OF THE COUNTY TREASURER
    
1.  To receive all monies due the county for real estate taxes, manufactured home taxes and personal property taxes. 

2.  To receive monies from all departments and deposit and invest according to state guide lines. 
The Treasurer WILL balance, with the Auditor, to allow for a timely dispersal of monies to schools, townships and other government agencies. 


TAX INCREASES

An increase in the amount of your current real estate tax must be attributed to valuation changes, tax levies, or bond issues.  Your taxable value is 35% of the market value of your property.  Any increase due to tax levies or bond issues was voted on and passed by the voters of your taxing district. 



     
     
NOTICE:

Your County Treasurer has NO authority
to increase your real estate taxes! 

Remember.... If your taxes are not paid by the due date*,
a 10% penalty will be added (Ohio Revised Code 323.121).

*In the case of a payment that is mailed, the US Post office post mark must be on or before the due date.
         

    
      

If you wish to protest the value of your property on which your taxes are based, you must do so by March 31 of the calendar year to the Auditor's office on property values.
