Ohio's Commercial Activity Tax
The CAT is an annual privilege tax measured by taxable gross receipts from most business activities. Most receipts generated in the ordinary course of business are subject to the CAT. The CAT only applies to those gross receipts that are sitused (sourced) to Ohio. For a complete overview of this tax please go to the State of Ohio CAT FAQs. The Stark County "Save our Homes" (SOH) Coalition brings together elected officials, government agencies, housing counseling agencies, banks, non-profit organizations, professional associations, Realtors®, non-bank lenders, attorneys, brokers and many others with the goal of providing prevention education and assistance to homeowners and future homeowners who are or may be subject to predatory, deceptive, and fraudulent lending practices. Predatory mortgage lending practices and foreclosures have a significant and destructive impact on our community assets and resources, neighborhoods, and on Stark County Homeowners.
The Stark County SOH Foreclosure Prevention Partnership works to educate and reach out to the community and provides foreclosure assistance initiatives, consumer-based financial education and a support system for homeowners who see to refinance, and future home purchasers who seek to buy homes.

Report a blighted property in your neighborhood. These properties can become unsightly if not properly maintained and could bring down the sale value of surrounding properties.
In attempt to rectify this growing problem, the Stark County Treasurer is building a database of these blighted tax-delinquent properties in attempt to get them fixed up or sold and back on the tax records.
Click here to learn about this program, or to send us information about a blighted property that is in your neighborhood that you want our office to take a look at. We will also forward your information to your City or Subdivision about your complaint.
